Female Feticide – A Mysterious Propaganda

Female Feticide – A Mysterious Propaganda

Now-a-days you will not see a single week without an article about female feticide in Indian dailies and magazines. Center for Social Research (CSR) in its annual report says ‘Family tradition and dowry system emerged as the two major causes of female feticides’. This quote is one of the favorites of Indian feminazis as well. Here is a common man’s arm-chair research and analysis about this issue based on the available historical census data of India in comparison with two other countries China and USA.

Which agencies gain by spreading this propaganda non-stop about the Hindus? What is the objective?

“Sex ratio at birth has recently emerged as an indicator of certain kinds of sex discrimination in some countries. For instance, high sex ratios at birth in some Asian countries are now attributed to sex-selective abortion and infanticide due to a strong preference for sons.”

  2. Bharat

    from the same source
    at birth: 1.13 male(s)/female
    under 15 years: 1.15 male(s)/female
    15-64 years: 0.93 male(s)/female
    65 years and over: 0.67 male(s)/female
    total population: 0.91 male(s)/female (2009 est.) “

  3. I have been sitting with the statewise, communitywise break up of the sex ratio used by the Mishra comittee for sometime planning to analyse them. I had simillar misgivings about the data.

To give an example – the sex ration in kerala has gone up from 1036 to 1058 (1991 to 2001) but the Age group (0-6) yr is only 960. This is mathematically impossible unless something else techtonic happened like death of unusually high no of males or unusually high say 1100 for the age group 7-10.

Similarly the numbers for Tamilnadu are 974,987 and 942.

There is an entire foreign-funded industry in India demonising the Hindu society using fake figures and dubious data. We have just managed to catch one such lie.

Er, could u pls explain? thx!

My q was to sridhar krishna..

        • @ S.

See it is like this. In 1991 there were 1036 females for every 1000 male in kerala. In 2001 it has gone upto 1058. The reasons could possibly be

          1. exodus of male outward (or female inward). Or disproportionate death of male.

          2. it could be because of birth of more girls in the period between 1991 and 2001.

given the population of kerala at 3.18 crore, the increase between 1991 and 2001 in absolute terms would be (apprx) 200,000 women more than the normal increase. This is for children below ten. But if for a sub category of children below 6 is 960 that means for children between 7-10 would have to be abnormally skewed towards girls.

this sudden blip, sex ration going from a low of 1015 in 1971 to a high of 1058 in 2001 (secular one way increase) but for an intermediate period between 1995 and 2001 where it fell to 960 looks a little incredible.

there must be some error in number or something worth investigating to save the female population.

BTW there is a lopsided ratio due to selective foeticide.
The grown up male generation in villages of Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan.
These guys are now buying wives from Bihar and Kerela.

Same situation in China where est. 24 MM young men of marriageable age will not get a chinese wive.

There is a problem no doubt. This is not propaganda. However, this is not a unique prob of Hindu society

  6. This is in response to demonizing the Hindu community. Research being done by an Indo-Canadian team of researchers have clearky shown that selective female fetocide is not religion specific, rather a cultural Indian phenomenon.Several gynecologists and obstetricians will without a doubt vouch for this. As for Kerala it is the only state in the country where there is a Matriarchial system of society. This fortifies the wiew that this is a cultural phenomenon and stems from perhaps the Indian Macho Image of a male siring male offspring. No doubt, dowry commensurate with the social status of the bridegroom in question is an extended form of a highly macho evaluation of male superiority and stems from a society that accepts male domination..
Similar phenomenon was studied in China, how many Hindus are there in China? You guessed right! NONE!! This further supports the cultural attitude, of predominantly male dominated society. Coupled with its one child norm, selective female infanticide has led China to have perhaps the highest number of bachelors in the world. India, predictably may follow suit.
Surprisingly, all those replying in this blog also appear to be males What say? I think that your blog is clearly inserting these demonising thoughts on Hinduism into an impressionable Indian diaspora worldwide rather than dealing with the cultural issue itself which could well turn into a grave imbalanced sex ratio crisis.

Exactly how old do you think this phenomenon is? It arose because of Muslim invasions when Hindu women got abducted and sold as slaves. In a war-like environment lasting centuries, they began to be seen as a a liability and vulnerable to dis-honour by religion of peace.

When you claim it is a cultural phenomenon, you should also investigate how old is that pheonemon and how it arose. But you people reek of white man’s prejudice and these studies are merely done to prove how bad pagans and non-whites are.

  7. Please note the following corrections in my reply:1. When I say NO hindus in China I talk of the indigenous Chinese population practicing Hinduism and not immigrants. 2. I meant selective female fetocide and not selective female infanticide has led China to have perhaps the highest bachelor population in the world….

  8. What phenomenon are you refering to exactly ? I was reffering to the phenomenon of cultural acceptability of Indians irrespective of religion, race and caste to male domination in society. It is unclear how the Muslims abducting Hindu women are contributing to female fetocide today. There are absolutely NO studies to support your statement, not even Indian, Hindu ones!!. Can you please elaborate.
Also, I don’t see the relation between white man and the prejudiced studies? The study I talk of, in fact was conducted by a team led by an Indian doctor who has a Hindu name, over a span of a decade .Also, you yourself have admitted that you are sitting with data on female fetocide, from Indian government sources , are they also reeking of white man’s prejudice? Facts are facts and should be viewed as such.
Sitting within the 4 walls of your house cannot give you an optimal view of what is actually happening on the field anywhere in the world and even if it is in your back yard, you wouldn’t see it if you look at it through already prejudiced glasses. It appears to me that you are focusing more on the issue of racial and religious prejudice than the actual issue at hand on this blog which is female fetacide.
You wanted a critical response to your statements which lack citations and research, they could be counterproductive to a forum which I assume is trying to understand and find a solution to the practice of female fetocide and not to propagate religious or racial disharmony.

“Events began at an US end-of-summer party in a volunteer football coach’s home, where alcohol was freely flowing, The New York Times reported LAST month. The girl may have been unconscious, dragged to different parties and raped over several hours, The Times said. She was even urinated on.”

Note the party was at an adult professional teacher’s home, not at some teenager’s.

Does this article simply demonstrate the odd, cliched conclusions Ivy folks come to? Those poor caste /cow/curry ridden Hindoos (or pig obsessed Muslim fanatics)? Please do examine some sanctioned rapes in the Bible.

BTW, a son became important in India when colonial UK laws (to match laws in Britain) would not permit Indian girls to inherit a parental home/land. Traditional Indian Stree Dhan (women’s property ) permitted female inheritance and the Rig Veda (holy text) says boys and girls must inherit equally. Islam too has some financial safeguards for women: the Prophet’s wife, Khadija, was an educated, older businesswoman who traveled alone. He was her illiterate employee.

UK abolished this custom and simply took any property where there was no male: India’s need for male heirs to simply protect and keep one’s home began there.

Rape, like any crime, happens when someone sees a victim as weak and knows s/he is unlikely to protest or get too much justice. Or when law is weak and results in institutions like say Gitmo/ Abu Graib with their rapes. Also few talk about alcohol: the no 1 partner in many crimes. Perhaps it is just not fashionable. One of the worst things to happen to a child or spouse is to live with an alcoholic adult.
